Tussahaw uses a process called Positive Behavior Intervention & Support (PBIS), designed to educate all children on appropriate social skills and to prevent inappropriate behavior by teaching and expecting all students to be safe, respectful, and responsible learners. This defining, teaching, and supporting appropriate student behavior creates a positive school environment for all.
These expectations are designed to help create a climate of cooperation, academic excellence, respect, and safety at Tussahaw. All behavior expectations will be taught in the context of these expectations. The power of this process is the community, the expectations, and the common language used by parents and staff. All students will hear the same expectations from all adults.
The Grizzly Bucks clearly communicate that, when students follow the TES Grizzly expectations, their behavior will be positively acknowledged. It gets the students’ attention and “hooks” them to the token economy system early in the school year. The overall goal is to find ways to reward students with Grizzly Bucks on a daily basis. All teachers will have Grizzly Bucks to give to students, and all students will have an opportunity to earn it. They will get to use these Bucks at the Grizzly Mart Monthly.
We need unused toys, gadgets, and items to put in the Grizzly Mart. Please drop off to the front office and specify for PBIS. Your Donations, support, and generosity are greatly appreciated.
