Picture Bowl

The Henry County Picture Book Bowl is a type of quiz bowl based on The Georgia Picture Book  Nominees. The competition is available to students in K-3rd grades.  Teams will compete against each other by answering questions related to the picture books.  Each participating elementary school will have a team of up to 10 students who will compete at the county level competition. The Henry County Picture Book Bowl competition takes place in October each year.  

In order for your child to participate, he or she must be committed to reading at least half of the picture books..  In the event that there are more than 10 students interested, the ten competing members will be chosen based on their knowledge of the books (answering questions about the books), attendance, and behavior.

Reading Bowl

Reading Bowl is a type of quiz bowl based on The Georgia Book Award Nominee novels. Teams will compete against each other by answering questions related to the novels. Each participating elementary school will have a team of up to 10 students who will compete at the county level competition. The Henry County Reading Bowl competition takes place in January each year.  First and second place winners will go on to compete at the regional level and, depending on where they place, may participate in divisional and state levels.

In order for your child to participate, he or she must be committed to reading at least 5 of the Reading Bowl books.  In the event that there are more than 10 students interested, the ten competing members will be chosen based on their knowledge of the books (answering questions about the books), attendance, and behavior.
