Media Center Information

When students have a lost or damaged book, their number of book checkouts are limited to only one title until they pay the fine. Any book overdue for more than 30 days will be assumed lost. Payment options are either check or cash. Checks should be made payable to Tussahaw Elementary. If paying cash, we only accept exact payment or rounding to the nearest dollar. We are unable provide change.

Unfortunately, we are not able to issue refunds if the book is found and returned after the school current school year.

Book Checkout

Students checkouts will start around the last week of August.
Students in grades PK through 1st grade may check out up to one book at a time.
2nd through 5th grade may check out up to two books at a time. Books can be renewed as long as there is no one on the waiting list to read the book. For the first semester, Kindergarten students will only check out one book at a time, and the books will be kept in the classroom.
All student checkouts are for two weeks.
This will ensure that students are being responsible with their books at all time.

Book Care

Help your child take care of library books by keeping them in a safe, dry place—away from food, pets, and younger siblings. Avoid placing books on crowded shelves at home where they might get lost. When not reading, it's best to keep library books in your child's backpack so they're easy to find and ready to return on time. Encourage gentle handling and turning pages carefully. Teaching book care builds responsibility and respect for shared resources.

Need a new charger or case?

Per Henry County Schools (HCS):

Lost, stolen, or damaged power adapters and always-on cases are the student’s responsibility to replace. These items may be purchased through MySchoolBucks.

Power Adapter: $22.00
Always-On Case: $22.50

Replacement items purchased through MySchoolBucks will be shipped to the appropriate school within 7–10 business days.

Students and parents may make these purchases as needed without notifying the school’s technical or instructional technology paraprofessionals.
